Is the electronic logging device (ELD) in your truck still legal — and who really sells it?
Type the name on the tablet or the box. You get the answer for your exact model: still registered, revoked by FMCSA, or withdrawn by its maker — plus who really sells it, and what else that maker sells under other names.

Straight answers
Is this checker really free?
Yes. ELDDecoded is kept free by FWING GROUP LLC. There is nothing to buy and no account to open, and the checker sends nothing anywhere — it reads a copy of FMCSA's lists stored on this site. How the site is kept free is explained on the how we match page.
Does FMCSA approve electronic logging devices?
No. Makers test their own devices, certify them, and register them with FMCSA. The agency keeps the list and says plainly that it does not endorse any device on it. Registered is the word that matters: under 49 CFR 395.22(a), a carrier required to use an ELD may use only a device from the registered list.
Why does one device name show two different answers?
Because FMCSA lists devices by model and software version, not by brand. The same name can have one model registered and another model revoked at the same time. Match the model on your tablet to the row — not just the name on the box.
